Storychord brings great short stories to life with a culmination of writing, art, and music

Paul Gustavsen—Even though the internet has been around for decades, it’s hard to find solid and original creative writing on it. Sure, you’ll find a plethora of classic ebooks with great creative writing or even stories just posted on a page. The problem is, these works are just taken from pieces that already exist, or simply posted by an amateur author who has no business designing a website. Also, when short stories are posted on the internet, they’re actually meant to be read on a screen. I’ve made it clear that I don’t believe in reading novels off of a LCD screen, but short articles and stories definitely have a place on the screen.

So, while short stories are on the internet—home of all media—why are they limited to text? Storychord doesn’t think they should be, so they’ve made a blog which takes submissions from artists, musicians, and writers, and posts one submission from each in an issue every other week on Mondays. The result is a piece of art and a work of music that both pertain to a short piece of creative writing. It’s pretty incredible to see the depth that each song and piece of art gives to the short stories. So, check out Storychord for some high quality writing by rising authors, accompanied by similar art and music. Check it out at storychord.com!
