Do not mention anything about stuck shutters. Have also heard that temperature seems to have some effect with success. For the black screen of death apparently related to a stuck shutter on my Canon A610, I tried the time exposure de-powering fix at least 20 times and I tried the The darkened room without flash should give you a prolonged exposure, hopefully giving you enough time to conduct Step 4 while the shutter is trying to move.Step 3.

After the 12th attempt, the shutter seemed to have reset itself. It may be worth it to have the LCD screen replaced or just checked in case the LCD ribbon came loose during impact.
