It turns out that you can't read a .chm when it lives in a directory which has any characters like '#', '?', '&', and '+' in the name. Thanks in advance! I found your solution, but there was NO WAY TO LEAVE A COMMENT. However, it puts the block right back on (that is, when I go back to the file and examine the properties, the block is back). Logged in as an Administrator, but there was no "Unblock" button under Context Menu > Properties > Security.

MJ's Help Diagnostics didn't detect any dll's unregistered, but under its "Register Help DLLs" advanced page I saw the list of files requiring registration: hhctrl.ocx, itss.dll, and itircl.dll.... Get SysInternals streams.exe to see which files have what names, and then run more against them, like this: 23:46:46 streams wul.chm Streams v1.56 C:NirSoftwul.chm: :Zone.Identifier:$DATA 26 23:47:01 And then I suddently remembered how it's keeping track of this -- NTFS streams.
