Obviously if that doesn`t work then maybe a fresh install is the way to go, but I`d only do that as the last option. I had major problems when my cat spilt a large glass of water on my keyboard.

  1. I did manage to restore and that went away, but was tricky since I couldn't use CTRL ALT DEL to get the computer to restart properly.
  2. Ok I found it.
  3. With the laptop shut down and turned off and the lid kept open, turn the whole thing upside down and shakecarefully.
  4. Nothing special there that was found.
  5. It does work with an external keyboard.

  7. Waited 5 minutes before I couldn't contain my frustration any longer then just manually restarted the tower.

What can you do in this situation? If that works, and the keys work individually, then the keyboard is probably fine....but then the mystery deepens! Have you spilt anything on it recently? Just to make sure that it is in fact your present keyboard that`s faulty. Issue start button doesn't work, icons open file but there is not text or data...there is what appears to be wire frames where the information should be.
