It had gotten so bad I was trying to look for a new computer--which was hard to do, since the cursor was SO erratic. If the plastic case seems to be fine then I don't think ordering a new case would help. I worked with Dell to get the touchpad replaced, and now it works MUCH better. I replaced the touch pad/palm rest, however this did not solve the problem.The problem only occurs when an Ethernet cable is plugged into the laptop. I currently have an Samsung 128GB SSD in mine.
