Weird thing is that the charger for my phone worked on any USB ports on docking station but mouse and keyboard did not recognize. This could also cause it to go into blue screen mode and the system restart when application is not properly shut off. Worked for me too! First off you mention a Thinkpad X61T. If the above said didn’t help resolve your concern, try uninstalling all the drivers listed under USB Root hub. Hp Docking Station Keyboard Not Working Right-click once again on that same “USB Root Hub” entry, and select Enable from the context menu.
The external usb hardisk was connected to the LCD usb port which in turn is connected to the docking station usb port. I assume you only have one docking station or port replicator.
