I checked the voltage on the rear electric fan and oddly there was power at around 10.6v-9.8v. Use a voltmeter to measure voltage to the clutch. When I get a new one I will be sure to wire it up the way you suggest. That could over-current the fuse or controller board if the motor impedance is different than the original fan motor.

If everything else seems to be fine, the fan clutch is the most likely cause of radiator fan failure. These use a solid state relay for the cooling fans, and the relays tend to overheat and fail. I don't know what to do at this point and the mechanic has said the same. Loading... A good relay coil will typically read 40 to 80 ohms.
