I am using Excel 2003. You can also try to open the excel in safe mode: Click Start-> All Programs ->Accessories ->Run-> Type "excel /safe"( with the space but not with the quotes). It turns out that Excel 2007-2010 'remembers' the delimiter you use for text imports or text-to-columns conversions. I've tried Paste Special - no joy.
