Bootcamp Brightness Not Working


If nobody else gets to it before me, I'll post back with my results later today. I have old Mac Pro (desktop) with ATI 5870 card. Neither the function keys nor the Windows brightness controls do anything for my machine (including tweaks to the Generic PnP device and adaptive brightness). Now when I try to install Crimson and the Crimson beta, I get a failed installation during the driver installation. http://haiteq.com/windows-10/bootcamp-xp-sound-not-working.php

He turned down the brightness manually and now it's so dark he can not see the screen. There are currently 2,504 views for this thread, more than any other on page one. Fussing with Windows control panel items or display settings has absolutely no impact (including disabling automatic brightness adjustment). This is why I would have infinitely preferred the nVidia GPUs.
